The Bulldogs SG Ball Cup side have climbed into fifth position following a solid 30-12 victory over the North Sydney Bears at Hammondville Oval.
Gaining momentum to string their third consecutive victory, the Bulldogs started hard and fast with two tries in the opening eight minutes, however errors and discipline saw them take a slender 10-6 lead at the break.
The second stanza began in similar fashion with Captain Alex Conti adding to the scoresheet, before front rower Oliva Smith completed his brace soon after.
However, the Bulldogs continued with their form throughout the entire second half, with their Captain adding a further four-pointer and a penalty goal to ice the match.
Despite the strong scoreline, Head Coach Steve Turner was frank in his assessment of the victory.
"We were back home in Sydney following a tough road trip to New Zealand," he explained.
"We made it very hard for ourselves against the Bears with a lot of fundamental errors and a lack of respect for the ball, especially in the first half.
We are a team that is chasing excellence and although we came away with a win, we know collectively as a group we need to be better.
