10 to Watch in ’25 | Mitch Woods

Coming through the pathways system at the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, playmaker Mitchell Woods has already stamped as a player to watch for many years to come.

Off the back of an impressive 2023, Woods picked up where he left off – guiding the Bulldogs in 2024 to their first UNE SG Ball Cup Grand Final appearance since 2018 – his second Junior Representative Grand Final appearance in two years.

Despite going down to the Dragons 40-18, the No.7 was named Player of the Series along with being named the club’s 2024 SG Ball Cup Player of the Year at the Bulldogs presentation night.

The Bulldogs captain finished the Junior Representative season with six tries, seven try-assists, nine line-breaks, 34 tackle-breaks and averaged 174 kicking metres.

Woods earnt representative honours midyear being named in the halves for the CABE NSW Under 19s State of Origin team and NSW City Under 18s team.

The playmaker was instrumental in both games, leading both teams to impressive victories – most notably NSW 14-10 win over Queensland at Leichhardt Oval.

Woods finished the season making his Jersey Flegg Cup debut – playing four games, scoring two tries and kicking seven goals.

A Bulldogs pathways product, the 18-year-old will become a part of the NRL Top-30 in 2025 after signing a new contract earlier this year locking him in with the Bulldogs until 2027.
