Subsidised Junior Registrations Open for 2025 CBDJRL Season!

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are pleased to officially open the 2025 Canterbury-Bankstown District Junior Rugby League (CBDJRL) Season registration period, with eligible families once again able to save up to $100 per child* on registration fees through the Future Bulldogs Program.

As announced by the Club last year, a new registration grant subsidy funded by Canterbury League Club offers $100 per child for children who meet the age criteria ranging from Under 5s to Under 13s within the CBDJRL.

The grant seeks to help reduce overhead costs for families and encourage thousands of kids to participate in grassroots rugby league - the most cost-effective sport - in the local area.

Season 2025 will see the CBDJRL expand to 13 teams with the addition of the Chipping Norton Kangaroos, who return to the competition for the first time since 2007.

Established in 1921, the CBDJRL covers an expansive area that comprises of now 13 teams, including the Bankstown Bulls, Bankstown Sports, Berala Bears, Chester Hill Hornets, Chipping Norton Kangaroos, East Hills Bulldogs, Greenacre Tigers, Milperra Colts, Moorebank Rams, Revesby Heights Rhinos, St George Dragons, St Christophers and St Johns Eagles.

In 2024, the CBDJRL enjoyed a landmark year which saw:

  • A collective engagement of 3645 participants - up 4.89% from 2023
  • A total of 211 teams - up from 204 in 2023
  • An increase of 3.85% in participation for boys and men
  • An increase of 12.3% in participation for girls and women

Teams ranged from Under 5s to Under 12s (boys and girls), and Under 13s to men's and women's open teams across both tackle and tag competitions. The area's rich cultural diversity brings together players from various backgrounds and religions, uniting them under the code's banner.

In 2025, the Bulldogs together with the collective CBDJRL clubs hope to see numbers in participation continue to soar.

Bulldogs Chief Executive Officer Aaron Warburton believes the Future Bulldogs Program will continue to drive participation in the district, allowing more local families than ever before to access the game of rugby league.

“We saw a great growth in our participation through the registration subsidy in 2024, and it was great to see more families within the Canterbury-Bankstown district enjoy the great game of Rugby League for the very first time,” Mr Warburton said.

We strive to align both our family values and identity as a community-driven Club, and we’re looking further to seeing further growth within the CBDJRL at all levels in 2025 and beyond.
