Bulldogs Help Kick Off Mayoral Toy Drive

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have teamed up with Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek to bring smiles to disadvantaged kids this Christmas.

Mayor El-Hayek was joined by Bulldogs players at Belmore Sports Ground to kick off this year’s Mayoral Toy Drive with a generous donation of footballs and stuffed toys.

The Mayoral Christmas Toy Donation Drive aims to spread Christmas cheer to children and families doing it tough, by collecting donations for local charities and not-for-profit organisations.

The 2024 Mayoral Christmas Toy Donation Drive is accepting donations of new and unwrapped children’s toys and items at Bankstown and Campsie Customer Service Centres and Bankstown and Campsie Library and Knowledge Centres until Wednesday 11 December.

Items that will be accepted include:

  • Arts and craft supplies
  • Beach towels, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen
  • Toys, books and stationery
  • Gift cards and vouchers

Donations can be dropped off at these locations until Wednesday 11 December 2024, Monday to Sunday during business hours.

  • Council Customer Service Centres at Bankstown and Campsie (Monday-Friday only)
  • Bankstown Library and Knowledge Centre
  • Campsie Library and Knowledge Centre

Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton urged Members and supporters in the community to get behind the initiative.

“This is a wonderful initiative, and we’re proud to support Mayor Bilal El-Hayek and the Canterbury-Bankstown Council in the incredible work they do for our community,” Mr Warburton said.

We encourage all Bulldogs Members, supporters, and the wider community to dig deep and contribute to the Mayoral Toy Drive, helping to bring joy and hope to families in need this Christmas.

Mayor El-Hayek said the sad reality is there are thousands of kids who will go without presents this year.

“Local families are really feeling the pinch, struggling to pay their bills and the idea of buying gifts will be overwhelming for many,” Mayor El-Hayek said.

“The holiday season should be a time of joy and we want to help out by putting presents under trees for families in need.”

Mayor El-Hayek thanked the Bulldogs for their support and encouraged everyone to join the team in giving what they can.

“A small donation to our Toy Drive could help put a smile on a child’s face this Christmas.”
