2025 Ampol State of Origin series

The National Rugby League (NRL) today released the full 2025 Ampol State of Origin schedule, which will see the men’s series return to Perth for the first time since 2022 and the women’s series opener to once again feature as part of the four-day NRL Magic Round festival.

The 2025 Ampol State of Origin Series will begin where it left off in 2024 at the home of the Maroons when Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium hosts Game One on Wednesday, May 28. The series will then head west for a showdown on neutral territory when Perth hosts State of Origin for just the third time in history for Game Two at Optus Stadium on June 18.

Sydney will be the site of the third and final clash, with a potential series decider set for July 9 at Accor Stadium.

After the stunning success of this year’s maiden three-game Ampol Women’s State of Origin Series, all three matches in the 2025 edition will be played in the month of May.

Queensland will begin their quest for three straight series wins at home in the opening clash at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday, May 1 before the series switches to New South Wales for the final two matches. Sydney’s Allianz Stadium will host Game Two on May 15 before the series finale at McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle on May 29.

In the middle of the Origin action, the next generation of NRL and NRLW stars will battle it out in the Under-19s State of Origin and Under 19s Women’s State of Origin matches at Sunshine Coast Stadium on Thursday, June 19.

“The 2024 Ampol State of Origin Series was one for the ages. An intense and exciting series for both the men and women plus a showcase of emerging young talent in the Under 19s Origin matches.

“The greatest rivalry in Australian sport returns to Brisbane, Perth and Sydney for the men’s series and the Sunshine Coast for the first time for the exciting Under 19s matches.

“2024 was a landmark year for Ampol Women’s State of Origin, with record crowds and television audiences. It was a gripping contest to mark the first ever three-game series.

"The Under 19s matches have unearthed several NRL and NRLW stars and we are seeing huge interest from players, player agents and talent scouts from Clubs to see the next generation of Blues, Sky Blues and Maroons make their mark.”
