The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are proud to announce the extension of Supporting Disabilities Australia as a Club partner for at least the next two years.
Specialising in comprehensive support services designed to enhance the quality of life and wellbeing of individuals and families living with both mental and physical disabilities, SDA offers tailored programs and on-site support within inclusive housing environments. These services promote independent living in the Sydney Metro Area and Wollongong, ultimately enhancing overall quality of life.
With a strong community presence in line with the Bulldogs’ own core values, SDA parallels the Club’s unwavering commitment to making positive impacts within the community, highlighting inclusivity, community driven initiatives and strong family principles.
In 2023, SDA supported the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs by sponsoring the Player’s Club Program. The following year, SDA's sponsorship was extended with its logo appearing on the players' shorts, with the Club assisting in opening one of its newest sites in Sefton, NSW. This facility provides supported independent living and offers premium access to disability support services within the local community.
Bulldogs join forces with SDA to promote diversity and inclusion
SDA also served as the Bulldogs’ matchday partner for the Club’s Disability Round at Accor Stadium earlier this year. This event was a significant success, featuring a range of initiatives that celebrated diversity and inclusion while raising awareness of the substantial number of people living with disabilities in the community.
“We're thrilled to announce the extension of our partnership with Supporting Disabilities Australia," said Bulldogs Chief Executive Officer Aaron Warburton.
"Our collaboration with SDA has been instrumental in promoting inclusivity and raising awareness about the challenges faced by those living with disabilities. The success of our Disability Round last season demonstrated the power of sport to unite and educate.
This renewed partnership underscores our commitment to creating a more inclusive community and using our platform to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
SDA Co-Director, Mya Anne, was thrilled with the new partnership, which will now see SDA proudly appear on the lower back of the Club’s NRL jerseys.
“Sport is a valuable vehicle for breaking down stigma and raising awareness within the disability sector. For those living with disabilities, watching sport is one way they can be active participants and feel included in the community as they come together to support their team,” Ms Anne said.
“The Bulldogs have been wonderful to work with, showcasing that they are a leading organisation in this space. We have been so impressed with the Club’s forward-thinking approach and their genuine care for those living with disabilities to empower communities on and off-the field.
“One in six Australians live with a disability, underscoring the importance of community support for individuals, families, and caregivers. We are excited to see what we can achieve together with the Bulldogs by raising awareness within the broader community and promoting greater acceptance, for a more inclusive and supportive community for all.”
