The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs would like to express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ron Thornton who sadly passed away late last month, age 92.

Bulldogs player no.218, Ron joined the Club in 1955 as a halfback, progressing quickly through the grades before making his first-grade debut against Balmain in Round 17 that year.

Establishing himself as a regular member of the line up, Ron went on to play 103 first-grade games during seven seasons at the Club. He was a member of the 1960 side that broke the Club’s 12-year finals drought.

In 2004, Ron was a nominee for the Berries to Bulldogs 70-Year Team of Champions.

The Bulldogs wish to pay their respects to Ron. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
