The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs District Junior Rugby League (CBDJRL) clubs in the under 11s and under 12s age groups finished their seasons on a high with a memorable day out at Hammondville Oval on Saturday, August 31.
The unavailability of Belmore Sports Ground due to the NRL Finals Series failed to deter the eager youngsters as they took the field, with a fantastic display of skill and sportsmanship shown throughout the day.
Seven of the 12 CBDJRL clubs were represented, with the fledgling stars taking their official pre-game team photos before running out to their favourite theme music in what was no doubt an unforgettable day in their footballing careers.
The winning sides enjoyed celebration photos with a Premiers banner and trophy, with each player of the match receiving their own personalised trophy and authentic Bulldogs backpack.
A variety of music between matches and plethora of food trucks added to the carnival-like atmosphere, while parents and players alike were able to relive the special day with both instant action photographs and videography available.
After another successful season in the CBDJRL, the youngsters’ achievements were indicative of the hard work and dedication of the amazing collective of players, coaches and families as well as club officials, referees and volunteers.
While all players and clubs arrived in hope of a victory, regardless of the result, the day proved to be another celebration of the continual growth of community spirit, pride, and passion within the Canterbury-Bankstown community.
The Club would like to congratulate all teams that participated in 2024 and look forward to the continual growth and development of each and every CBDJRL junior who takes the field.
