Round 20 Late Mail: Hayes To Debut in Cowboys Clash

Head Coach Cameron Ciraldo has finalised his squad to face the North Queensland Cowboys this evening, calling on young gun Harry Hayes to make his NRL debut.

Hayes will follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, Mervyn 'Merv' Hicks (Bulldog #317) when he takes the field tonight in Townsville to become a Canterbury first grade player.

The 22-year-old has been called in for the Cowboys clash, joining Bailey Hayward, Kurtis Morrin and Chris Patolo on the interchange bench.

Jacob Preston returns from injury while Captain Stephen Crichton will back up from Origin duties, joined by fellow Blues squad member Matt Burton and Queenslander, Reed Mahoney in the starting line-up.

With both teams coming off a bye after respective golden point matches, it is sure to be a fiercely competitive match as the sides battle to cement themselves in the top 8.
