Members Appreciation Week: Bulldogs celebrating our Breed

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are thrilled to officially launch Members Appreciation Week: A week dedicated to the Blue and White and our Breed, our Family.

Your Breed, Your Bulldogs

This years' Members Appreciation Week is being celebrated during our Round 19 bye and unlike in previous years, the Club will be hosting a full week of exciting initiatives designed to give thanks to all of our Members for their unwavering support.

The history behind 'Members Appreciation'

In 2007, the Bulldogs decided to publicly retire the number 18 jersey in honour of our Members and fans, and have since created a tradition that is celebrated every home game by awarding a Member with our 18th jersey, as well as dedicating one week during each season to the Pack.

Captain at the time, Andrew Ryan explained:

Every week we have 17 players named in the first-grade side, but when we play at home it feels like we have an extra player with us – an 18th player. That player is our fans.

"The support and lift we get from our supporters is like having an extra man ready to help us out," he said.

Each week when the Team List is announced, there is a void in the 18th position. Rather the number 18 jersey spot is reserved for Members and fans.

With two back-to-back golden point wins in recent weeks and a current undefeated record at home this season, the value of our Member's and fans in attendance at our games this year has never been felt more strongly.

Our thanks to the Breed, the Family

As the Bulldogs prepare to celebrate this special Members Appreciation week, the players, coaches, staff, management, and Board, all wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of our Bulldogs supporters and their families.

Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton encapsulated the sentiment by stating:

"We are so grateful to our Bulldogs Members and fans for their unwavering support, not only this year but over recent seasons.

"Our Members are the heartbeat of our Club, enabling investments in our people, pathways, facilities, and programs, all aimed at realising the best and most competitive version of ourselves. In 2024, their passionate support has helped our team build off of their tremendous energy.

"Accor Stadium has become a formidable blue and white fortress, with crowds exceeding 20,000 and peaking at over 45,000 over the King's Birthday long weekend, underscoring our collective impact.

"We aspire to boast one of the strongest Membership bases of all the Sydney clubs, a goal well within reach considering the exciting journey ahead of us. This season holds the promise of finals footy, and looking ahead to 2025, we are thrilled to mark our Club's 90th anniversary and introduce our inaugural NRLW side.

"To everyone who has joined us on this remarkable journey so far, thank you. But rest assured, this is just the beginning."
