Junior Bulldogs Triumph at Belmore: Grand Finals Celebrations

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs District Junior League (CBDJRL) clubs in the under 9s to under 12s age groups recently concluded their seasons with a grand final spectacular at the home of the Bulldogs, Belmore Sports Ground.

The iconic venue, which has witnessed thrilling matches, memorable moments, and the crowning of countless junior league champions over the years, once again welcomed 16 teams for an unforgettable experience that Club champions such as Josh Reynolds and Terry Lamb still recall to this day as some of their fondest memories.

From professional team photos to dressing room access, a tunnel run, and grandstand medal presentations Wembley style, these grand finals were a true celebration of the Bulldogs' spirit.

A Grand Belmore Experience

The young athletes had the unique opportunity to take in the full Belmore experience. The day began with professional team photos, capturing memories that will last a lifetime, as players proudly posed in front of the Bulldogs logo and sign. The atmosphere was electric as they got a taste of what it's like to be part of the Bulldogs Family.

Dressing Room Access

For many aspiring players, stepping into the inner sanctum and dressing rooms of Belmore Sports Ground was a dream come true. The junior grand finalists had the privilege of walking through the very same doors that countless Bulldogs legends have entered over the years. It was a chance to soak in the history and pose in front of their NRL heroes' lockers such as Matt Burton, Reed Mahoney, Josh Addo-Carr and Viliame Kikau. The special access marks the tradition that makes the Bulldogs Junior League Grand Final Day so special.

The Tunnel Run

The highlight of the day for many of these young talents was undoubtedly the exhilarating run through the tunnel onto the field. With the roar of their families and number one supporters echoing in their ears, they felt the rush of adrenaline as they emerged onto the turf of Belmore Sports Ground - the same turf that the NRL players train and play on. It was a moment of pure excitement and pride, a glimpse into what their potential future as a Bulldog could hold.

Medal Presentations in Grandstand Style

Following the intense matches on the field, the grandstand at Belmore became the stage for the medal presentations. This was no ordinary ceremony; it was a grand affair, with the young champions receiving their hard-earned trophies with beaming smiles, surrounded by friends, family, and the passionate Bulldogs community.

A Game to Remember

While all the grand finals were played in great spirit, a special mention goes to the under 9-1s clash between the St George Dragons and St Christophers. After an intense match, the score was locked at 6-all at full-time. Not even two periods of golden point could separate these determined teams, leading to a remarkable declaration of joint Premiers in 2023.

It was a fantastic display of sportsmanship and resilience, a testament to the values instilled in our junior Bulldogs.
