Facing one of the toughest teams in the competition, the Bulldogs have finalised their line-up leading into their clash with the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks at PointsBet Stadium this afternoon, at 4:05pm AEST.
Match: Sharks v Bulldogs
Round 16 -
home Team
Sharks
6th Position
away Team
Bulldogs
15th Position
Venue: PointsBet Stadium, Sydney
Khaled Rajab has been replaced by Kyle Flanagan, who will start at halfback, moving Rajab to the interchange bench.
Kurtis Morrin has been promoted to the starting side, after Harrison Edwards succumbed to a concussion sustained during training.
Both sides suffered heavy losses in Round 15 with the Sharks going down to Melbourne Storm, 54-10 and the Bulldogs defeated by the Eels, 34-12 in the i4Give Cup local derby. While the Sharks remain comfortable in the top eight, the Bulldogs will have some work to do this Round to keep themselves off the bottom of the ladder.
While Josh Addo-Carr drops out of the squad due to his Origin call-up, Round 9 stand-out performer, Braidon Burns will step in to take up his post on the wing.
Chris Patolo remains in the forward pack after making his return to the NRL just yesterday, and young guns Khaled Rajab and Karl Oloapu have solidified their top-grade positions with strong performances against the Eels.
Tevita Pangai Junior will be focused on putting his best foot forward for the Bulldogs. He played a key role in the sides momentum against the Sharks in Round 8, where he linked up with Corey Waddell to drive the team forward with 13 runs for 116 metres.
Jacob Preston and Reed Mahoney also combined for 79 tackles over the Sharks in April and we will back in force this weekend.
Raymond Faitala-Mariner remains unavailable as he works to get back to full-fitness from illness.
On the Sharks side, prop Royce Hunt is out after suffering an ankle injury over the weekend. Teammates, Toby Rudolf and Kade Dykes also remain unavailable for Sunday's game.
