Body Science and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have today announced a new agreement that will see their partnership extend to over 20 years of working together.
The new two-year deal cements the health and wellness manufacturer as one of the Bulldogs’ longest, current serving partners and means that the two organisations will look to celebrate two decades worth of partnership in 2023.
The Bulldogs were first fuelled by Body Science (BSc) in November 2003 and their products and compression garments have been helping to keep the team fit, healthy, and ready to perform at our best since.
“Body Science first joined the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs for the 2004 pre-season and we are extremely pleased to be continuing our relationship through until the end of the 2024 season,” said Bulldogs Chief Executive Officer, Aaron Warburton.
“Body Science has long been trusted to help our team perform at their best and they will continue to supply our team with the best resources when it comes to nutrition, compression and recovery.”
Founded on the Gold Coast in 1999, Body Science has fast become a leading Australian brand in the sports supplement industry and the first Australian brand to work with both Informed Sport and HASTA for third party testing of sports supplements for banned substances.
As the Club’s official Sports Supplement and Sports Compression Partner, BSc will look to continue to provide the Club with approved products across all grades, including male and female. This includes protein powders and bars that have formed a key component of the players’ overall nutritional requirements. They will also continue to support the Club with the provision of high-quality compression wear that is built to withstand the toughest training sessions and aide in muscle recovery.
“Our vision has always been to supply athletes and teams with access to the best training nutrition, compression and recovery products,” said Body Science CPO, Greg Young.
“As part of our commitment and mission to empower athletes at all levels, we are extremely thrilled to see the rising popularity of women’s sport and proudly celebrate the growth of this new era with our sponsorship of the Canterbury Bulldogs Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership team this season, which is an exciting step forward,” said Body Science CEO, Sheree Young.
Body Science CMO Nathan Picklum, said the organisation was delighted to extend the partnership: “We are delighted that we have been able to work with such an iconic, tough and resilient team as the Bulldogs and we look forward to continuing to help fuel their performance and recovery over the next two seasons and beyond.”
Head of Performance at the Bulldogs, Travis Touma says BSc products will help to prepare and prime our team so that they are in the best position to go after a session or game from a physical standpoint, and then also aide in the recovery from some of those gruelling sessions or tough matches that they will no doubt endure.
“Nutrition is the cornerstone of what the Bulldogs do with regards to our recovery,” said Touma.
“The team train hard every day. We never have to worry about their ability or motivation to train hard, but we do look to educate them on the benefits of proper nutrition. What we’re trying to do here [at the Bulldogs] is educate them on whole foods and the benefits of eating well,” he said.
“And then we utilise high quality supplements to complement what they already eat and drink. Body Science products are high quality products and, in my opinion, have come along way with the vast array of vitamins and supplements that they offer to athletes.
“Importantly for me, and therefore for our athletes is the quality of the products. The guys are training really hard and eating really well. And then supplements on top of that have to be of the highest quality to maximise the benefits. We’re lucky that BSC has quite an array of products. The Boys will start with pre-workout supplementation, then intra workout we’ll continue the supplementation support while they are training and definitely a strong emphasis on post recovery, after their field and weights sessions.”
More than just physical performance, the Bulldogs also trust in BSc to assist in helping to prevent mental fatigue.
“It can become a thing with the guys particularly once the physical nature of the sport takes hold,” said Touma.
“The products from Body science allows us to restore a lot of the nutrients required by the athletes to not only perform physically, but to stay in the game mentally as well.”
With the season fast approaching, we will soon get to see the benefits of a long hard pre-season fuelled by Body Science products.
