Marshall-King takes top honours in Bulldogs farewell

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs held their 2022 Presentation Night on Wednesday to mark the end to the NRL season.

Held at Doltone House, Darling Island, the event was attended by more than 450 guests featuring players, partners, corporate partners and Members.

2022 Player of the Year: Jeremy Marshall-King

Running out for Canterbury-Bankstown in all 24 matches this season, the Bulldog's centurion was a cornerstone for the club's forward pack. Possessing a strong running game from dummy half, the hooker was consistent with putting his side on the front foot with his darting runs. The Kiwi workhorse scored 5 tries, made 9 linebreaks and averaged 39 tackles per game. The 2022 Dr George Peponis Bulldogs player of the Year is Jeremy-Marshall King.

2022 Coaches Award: Max King

The Canterbury-Bankstown forward has had a stellar season-to-date. Initially signing a one-year deal, the Bulldog's forward was rewarded for his strong performances with a 2-year extension. King featured in every game this year for the Bulldogs', averaging 102 metres and 10 hit-ups per game. A likeable character off the field amongst his peers and the Canterbury-Bankstown fanbase, the 2022 Coaches Player of the Year is Max King.

2022 Rookie of the Year: Jacob Kiraz

The St Johns local junior made an impressive NRL debut in Round 7 against the Brisbane Broncos. Known for his aggressive running style and driven nature, Kiraz would go on to feature in 17 NRL fixtures this season, making 52 tackle breaks, 7 line breaks and scoring 6 tries. The Lebanese International is this year's Steve Mortimer Rookie of the Year.

2022 Members Player of the Year: Matt Burton

The Bulldogs fan favourite played in every fixture for the Belmore based club in 2022. Boasting a strong running and kicking game which saw him yield 6 tries, 14 try assists and averaging 432 kicking metres per game, the five-eighth would cap off a strong year with selection in the 2022 State of Origin series for the NSW Blues. The 2022 Carroll & O'Dea Members Player of the Year is Matt Burton.

2022 Community Service Award: Raymond Faitala-Mariner

A nominee for the 2022 NRL Ken Stephen Medal for his service to the community, the Bulldog's forward has been acknowledged for his commitment to community projects off the field. Motivated to give back to the less fortunate, Raymond spent the early part of the year contributing time towards helping Maronites on Mission Australia and the Foot General. Your 2022 Peter Warren Award for Community Service is Raymond Faitala-Mariner.

2022 NSW Cup Player of the Year: Jackson Topine

A regular feature in this year's NSW Cup side, the backrower has been a consistent performer for Canterbury-Bankstown. Making 18 appearances at Cup level this season, the backrower ran up an impressive 96.2% tackle efficiency rate, made 9 linebreaks and scored 5 tries in the lead up to the NSW Cup Finals. This year's Terry Lamb NSW Cup Player of the Year is Jackson Topine.

2022 Jersey Flegg Player of the Year: Bailey Hayward

The Jersey Flegg captain had a breakout year, which saw the halfback star in numerous game winning performances for the Bulldogs. Known for his game management and tactical kicking game, it wasn't too long till Hayward made his NSW Cup debut in Round 7 against Mounties, where he would feature another 6 times during the season. This year's Hazem El Masri Jersey Flegg player of the Year is Bailey Hayward.
