Bulldogs One Community Christmas Campaign

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and Canterbury Leagues Club have announced their One Community Christmas Campaign, which will see them team up with a number of local community organisations to support families and individuals that are experiencing difficulties leading into Christmas and the New Year.

The COVID period was a tough one for all of Sydney, including the south-west. Many families have been put under enormous pressure due to lockdown and the financial challenges that have ensued.

The Bulldogs have therefore decided to team up with a number of community partners to provide the following help:

  • Culturally appropriate food hampers
  • Christmas toys for kids at Canterbury and Bankstown hospital
  • Feeding and providing shoes for the homeless
  • Additional emergency services

Each partner below will assist in the overall delivery of the program:

  • Community Care Kitchen – Hampers4All (culturally appropriate hampers) and other assistance
  • Mother Maria of Paris Mission – Christmas Toys for children in Hospital and other services
  • Maronites on a Mission – Food for the homeless and other services
  • The Foot General (providing podiatry services and donating shoes to the homeless)
  • Canterbury Leagues Club – funding and supporting community partners

Bulldogs GM – Community, Fayssal Sari, was delighted that the club were in a position to help: “The Bulldogs and Canterbury League Club have listened to the needs of our community partners and believe that we can play our part in bringing together the community through helping to facilitate the available services. This is another great example of the people of the Canterbury Bankstown coming together during tough times”.

These sentiments were shared by Bulldogs Community Ambassador, Hazem El Masri: “It is wonderful to see such a diverse range of community organisations from Canterbury Bankstown, roll their sleeves up to help those who are struggling. Our community has shown we always come together when times are tough, and I’m proud when I see the Bulldogs helping to support people in need”.
