The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have confirmed their squad for this weekend’s trial against the Cronulla Sharks at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Saturday, February 27 at 6pm.

The trial match will be the first official hit out for the Bulldogs under Head Coach Trent Barrett as the team looks to put all the hard work over the pre-season into practice.

New recruits Kyle Flanagan, Nick Cotric, Corey Waddell, Jack Hetherington and Corey Allan have all been named to wear the blue and white for the first time.

Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Chris Smith and Jackson Topine have been included after taking part in last week’s NRL All Stars match.

Train and trial contracted players Bailey Biondi-Odo, Declan Casey, Brad Deitz, Falakiko Manu, Aaron Schoupp and Ava Seumanufagai will all feature in this weekend’s NRL trial.

Jake Averillo (elbow), Jeremy Marshall-King (foot), Dylan Napa (knee), Raymond Faitala-Mariner (ankle), Jayden Okunbor (knee), Christian Crichton (knee), Chris Patolo (knee) and Luke Thompson (suspended) will all miss this week’s trial.

Averillo on the mend as first trial looms

Averillo, Marshall-King, Napa and Faitala-Mariner are all aiming for round one selection, while Thompson is unavailable to play until round five due to suspension, Okunbor is looking at a round 10 return from an ACL injury suffered in the final game of the 2020 season and Crichton is two months post ACL surgery after sustaining the knee injury prior to Christmas.

The day will also feature Mounties playing the Newtown Jets in the Canterbury Cup at 3.45pm, while the Jersey Flegg trial match between the Bulldogs and Sharks kicks off at 2.00pm.

Capacity at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium will be limited, with members and fans looking to attend encouraged to get in early and access tickets on-line.

If you're unable to attend Saturday's fixture, you can catch the live stream at 6pm through the club's website or on Kayo.
