The Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs tonight will host the New Zealand Warriors at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin.
With only one confrontation throughout the 2016 season in round seven, the Bulldogs travelled over to Westpac Stadium in Wellington, but went down by four points to the Warriors.
New Zealand Warriors’ second rower Ryan Hoffman will replace Roger Tuivasa- Sheck (RTS) as captain, after the number one was ruled out earlier in the week following a concussion from his sides loss to the Storm in Round two.
Warriors’ prop Jacob Lillyman and halfback Shaun Johnson expressed their views before the clash against the Bulldogs at Forsyth Barr Stadium on Friday night.
“We’ve got a lot of improvement in us and look to have a much better performance against the Dogs on Friday night. They’re a very good side, their backs are too the wall, they’ll certainly be looking to get their first win on the board so we’re aware of the challenge that awaits us but we’ll certainly grab it with both hands and take it head on.” - Prop Jacob Lillyman.
“They play side to side footy, they let the ball go, obviously a massive forward pack so we got to do a good job there. Slow them down in the ruck not give them the front foot ball that they like playing off. Every team wants to get a win on the board for sure, they’re a much better side than probably what their record shows at the moment. We know they’re going to be a force in this comp this year so it’s a good challenge for us” - Halfback Shaun Johnson.
