New recruit Brenko Lee chats with bulldogs.com.au about his first match in the blue and white this weekend.

Lee has been named to start at right centre and will be looking to push his claims for a starting spot come Round One.

"I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but it's about putting my best foot forward and hopefully when Round One arrives, my name will be there," Lee said.

With the departure of Sam Perrett and Curtis Rona at the end of the 2016 season, this weekend's clash with the Storm will give the former Raider and winger Kerrod Holland an opportunity to form a new combination down the Bulldogs right side.

"It's always good to form combinations in trial matches especially because we play Melbourne in Round One. The match this week will give us both a chance to get to know each other and how we play in match type conditions."

The game between two of the top eight contenders last season, will see rugby league return to Tasmania for the first time in five years.

The game will also see Des Hasler field his strongest team available in preparation for Round One, which will take place against the Melbourne Storm at Belmore two weeks later.
