Tim Browne has spoken with the media this morning ahead of the round 23 clash with the Gold Coast Titans and discussed the size and role of the Bulldogs bench.
Once again Des Hasler has named four forwards on the interchange bench for the Bulldogs this week and with a combine weight of over 400kgs, potentially the biggest in the competition, Browne was asked, how much confidence to the players get out of having one of the biggest packs in the competition?
“I’m not sure if we outsize every team in the competition.
“It has its down falls because there a lot of teams that are quick and mobile, but it’s good being alongside these guys and getting off the bench and being an inspiration to the other guys.”
In recent weeks there have been some inspirational acts from the likes of Browne, Klemmer, Kasiano and Lane when injected into the game from the bench and, the one player who Browne has pointed out as taking his game to a new level is David Klemmer.
“He is full of confidence, he is taking on a leadership role and I feel he has stepped up with what he is doing.
“His actions are inspiring to be around.
“Since returning from Origin he has definitely grown a lot and I’m happy to be playing alongside him.”
The Bulldogs come into their round 23 clash with the Titans off a gutsy, determined win against the Brisbane Broncos and while many believe the Bulldogs should walk all over the Titans, it’s another game that the Bulldogs must win to continue their march towards the finals.
“If you go in thinking you should win, you will get your pants pulled down.
“It’s going to be a must win game for us and were not going to them lightly.”
