2014 was a successful year on the field for the Canterbury-Bankstown club with the NRL side finishing as runners-up after a Grand Final loss to the Rabbitohs but it was also off the field where the Bulldogs business was kicking goals.
A report released late last year from Repucom showed that the Bulldogs were the second most watched sporting team in Australia, across all sporting codes. The sporting team who came in first place was the Hawthorn Hawks, who play in the AFL competition.
In total, close to 25 million watched our games throughout season 2014 and of those, 23 million watched via ‘free to air’ television broadcasts.
Chief Executive Raelene Castle is pleased with the strong results.
“As a business we are aware that the football club and brand is one of the most recognisable in the country,” Castle said. “With the team achieving success and performing strongly on the field it is good to see the brand receiving a lot of coverage across the country.
“I know for a fact that our apparel partners Canterbury International and our major sponsors Jaycar Electronics, M & J Chickens and easy-forex are impressed with the amount of coverage they are receiving and the strong numbers that are seeing their brand.”
Of all major sponsors across all four codes, Jaycar Electronics received the most exposure.
