Bulldogs TV caught up with half-back Trent Hodkinson as he checked in for the pre-season.
After a tough 18 months leading into this year, which seen Trent struck down by shoulder and knee injuries, the young half was given his opportunity to start in the number seven jersey against the Roosters in Round six and from then on, played in every game for the club in the 2013 season.
It was great to see Trent back out there, because he has worked extremely hard, along with high performance team to get back on to the playing field.
He took over the goal-kicking duties throughout the year and proved to be a sharp shooter with the boot.
It took time for Trent to get his confidence back, but his combination with Josh Reynolds certainly grew as the season went on and with Josh sidelined over the summer with a shoulder injury, it will give Trent a chance to provide leadership and help a number of the young halves improve their game throughout this pre season.
Trent was rewarded with a two year contract extension, which will see him at the club until 2015.
2014 shapes as one Trent is looking forward to.
