The Bulldogs head to ANZ Stadium on Monday afternoon looking to bounce back from defeats to the Raiders and the Sharks.
The recent encounter with the Sharks was one of the Bulldogs toughest defeats the club has had in recent time after a late Ricky Leutele try and a James Maloney conversion from the sideline saw the league leaders snatch a two-point victory and extend their winning streak to nine.
The Bulldogs did everything but win and according to five-eight Josh Reynolds, crucial errors at crucial stages really hurt the side.
“It’s the toughest loss I reckon as a team we have had for a while,” Reynolds said.
“I felt we were the better team for much of the game, but just some crucial individual things by all of us at stages probably cost us.
“It was a very tough one to take, but we can definitely take some massive positives out of it to.”
Despite the loss, Reynolds knows the side can take a lot away from the loss as they prepare for the Dragons on Monday afternoon, who fresh off a bye will be looking to erase the memory of last year’s elimination final one-point defeat.
“We did take a fair bit of positivity out of the loss.
“We had a big game against them last year and we know with Benji (Marshall) and Gareth (Widdop) there, they can create something out of nothing.
“I think we’ve got to worry about ourselves. I think we’ve got to realise that we’re not that far away and we need to keep nailing the things we are doing.”
