The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are pleased announce that David Klemmer and Moses Mbye have agreed to stay with the club, for a further four seasons, through until at least the end of season 2020.
Mbye has come through the junior system at the club, first arriving at Belmore when he was 17 years of age and Klemmer was recruited to the club at 15, playing all his grade rugby league for the Bulldogs.
The Noosa Pirates junior has this season made the number seven jersey his own and admits he always wanted to stay at Belmore.
“I love this club,” Mbye said. “They have been everything to me since I first arrived as a skinny little 17-year-old kid.
“The playing group we have, the staff, Des, the members, are all things that contributed to my decision to stay and I’m happy with where we’re all heading.
“I’m really looking forward to knuckling down now, focusing on my footy and giving my all for this famous blue and white jersey.”
Klemmer also didn’t see anything else but him in blue and white in the future.
“The Bulldogs is everything to me,” Klemmer said. “I grew up supporting the club and since I first signed here, it has been the only thing I have known.
“I never really wanted to go anywhere else and to be here, surrounded and playing with these great guys, is where I want to be.”
Chief Executive Raelene Castle is glad to see both Klemmer and Mbye decide to stay at the club.
“Both of these young athletes have now established themselves as regular first graders,” Castle said. “To go with that, they are both outstanding role models to all young kids who commit to that by doing an enormous amount of work in the community.
“We believe that the promising start that they have both had to their NRL career can continue and they will be key members of the playing squad for many years to come.”
Coach Des Hasler is also pleased that Klemmer and Mbye will remain at Belmore.
“I’m pleased that both of these young men have decided to stay with the club,” Hasler said. “It will ensure the future of this club is in good shape on the field.”
